1-3-1 half-court trap

X1 plays ball forces player to right or left.
X2 and X3 play the wing position at top of the 3-point circle > players are interchangeable.
X4 plays the middle at top of the key > prevent the pass to the high post.
X5 plays basket at broken circle.

1-3-1 half-court trap left

X1 forces ball to either sideline.
X2 comes and double teams the ball > steps to sideline to trap.
X3 goes to basket for basket responsibility.
X4 slides high post area to prevent pass to high post.
X5 goes to steal the pass.

TRAP COMES UP BY HALF COURT

1-3-1 half-court trap right

X1 forces ball to either sideline.
X3 comes and double-teams the ball > steps to sideline to trap.
X2 goes to basket for basket responsibility.
X4 slides high post area to prevent pass to high post.
X5 goes to steal the pass.

TRAP COMES UP BY HALF COURT

If trap is broken play 1-3-1 tight with the traps in the corner.

1-3-1 half-court trap left corner

#1 responsible for high post > arm and leg rule.
#2 prevents pass from corner to inside > If offense dribbles out #2 automatically traps with #5.
#3 covers basket and weak side rebound also looks for quick return pass to weak side.
#4 covers pass to low post > plays arm and leg rule.
#5 protects baseline - (bounces off baseline). If offense dribbles trap.

#1 responsible for high post > arm and leg rule.
#3 prevents pass from corner to inside > If offense dribbles out #3 automatically traps with #5.
#2 covers basket and weak side rebound also looks for quick return pass to weak side.
#4 covers pass to low post > plays arm and leg rule.
#5 protects baseline - (bounces off baseline). If offense dribbles trap.
